Initial situation
The aim of the collaboration was to develop a comprehensive campaign structure that covers all relevant touchpoints on Amazon and beyond. The challenge was to arouse the interest of new target groups, address existing customers in a targeted manner and measurably influence purchasing decisions through data-based measures. All measures had to be precisely coordinated – from the awareness phase through to the actual purchase.
Details
As a specialized Amazon Ads agency, we developed a fully integrated full-funnel strategy for Playmobil. We relied on streaming TV placements, including via Prime Video Ads, as well as display ads via Amazon DSP. The media strategy was supplemented by the targeted use of sponsored ads – including sponsored products, sponsored brands and sponsored display.
A highlight of the campaign was the use of the Dynamic Sitebar, an exclusive high-impact format that is only available via Xingu. This cross-channel media planning enabled us to achieve a consistent brand presence – on desktop, mobile and connected TV.
To measure success, we used the Amazon Marketing Cloud (AMC), which enabled us to analyze the performance of each individual measure in detail – across all channels and along the entire customer journey.
Results
The results of the campaign prove the effectiveness of the full-funnel approach: brand searches increased by 14%, while the likelihood of purchase among Prime Video viewers increased by 76%. Incremental reach was increased by 44% and the number of new-to-brand purchases rose by 49% within four months.
These figures clearly show how effective strategically planned Amazon Ads can be – especially when media, data and targeting are optimally coordinated. The Playmobil case is therefore a prime example of a successful full-funnel Amazon campaign.
